Threshold {Shannon Lund Photography Studio space}

For anyone just tuning in- Hello, my name is Shannon and I am a photographer.  When I was a little girl my sister and I would get out the white sheets, fans, mirrors and play model/photographer.  I come from a very snap happy family, so there are many memories and moments documented thru the years.  I took a few years of photography in school and never lost the hobby.  When my first son was born I knew I needed a current piece of equipment.  With digital being so much more affordable than film I purchased my first DSLR.  After a year of doing some photog jobs on the side and second shooting I decided to jump in and call myself a photographer and started asking for referrals.  I have yet to advertise thinking, I love my friends so their friends have to be equally cool right!?!  It has worked out fabulously!

July 1st I joined my friend Autumn (Massage therapist) and we share studio space in the Threshold building on Atwood Ave.  It's an incredible building and our fearless leader Efrat is phenomenal!  Threshold and everyone involved have really helped nourish my soul!  Not only do we have this amazing workspace, but a crew of people that are making such a powerful impact on my life.  Stay tuned as we spread beauty, love and healing...

Time is not always on my side, but I sure do enjoy trying to keep up!!

Summer will officially be soon and it feels like it already!  Things have been very busy at SLP the past couple months.  Some big news coming soon that I can't wait to share!

Mini sessions have started as well as weddings.  I am just finishing up Chimeng and Michelle's super fun wedding, and head off to another this Saturday for my college roommate.

I've been a little too busy to update my blog, so here is a little preview of the past month or so.

I say often and I really do mean it, I am blessed!  Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and nurtured me on this journey!  I have so much to be thankful for and pinch myself daily seeing how life has played out.

To call this 'work' makes me giggle like I'm getting away with something haha!  This is fun, exciting, new, creative, expressive, artistic but certainly not work!!  Now cleaning my house...that's work and even that doesn't happen to often!

I'm back....

After a brief vacation for organization and de-clutter I am feeling very rejuvenated!!  Spring has sprung and were ready to enjoy every moment of good weather coming our way.  Wedding season is around the corner and I have a few creative projects underway.  I have been working hard and burning every end of many candles...leaving most day's feeling like this:

May mini's start on the 16th Downtown Madison, June is booked solid on weekends and almost full for sunset session's.  July has a few opening's and fall will be here before we know it.  I am only taking 6 wedding's this year and looking forward to our first of the season only a month away.

Stay tuned for lots of good stuff !!

Jacob { 9 days new}

When I took Michele's maternity pictures I asked her due date she said March 12th.  I smirked and said how much I had wanted a St.Patricks day baby.  Well March 12th came and went with no word from the Scott family.  Since I was overdue with my second boy I figured she was also.  I got the email from Michelle on the 18th saying Jacob Patrick Joseph Scott was born on St. Patrick's day!!

The following week I came to them with my backdrops and props for an in home session.  Baby Jacob is so unbelievably handsome!  I seriously couldn't stop saying that!  Big sister Alexa was so sweet tho as most 2 yr olds do...she lost interest in being a model after a bit.  We convinced her for a few more then lunch and Culver's!  Woowho!!  I think at least 7 out of 10 session's use Culver's as a treat for after sessions.  In fact now I want some just thinking about it!  Baby J was very alert and interested in my clicking, I saw his big eyes often and couldn't get enough of his little features.

Daniels {Papago park AZ}

When I booked this session, I assumed Deborah heard about the mini session's thru social media.   I also assumed we were complete stranger's who had never met.  At the beginning of our session she mentioned how her friend Autumn shared my post and that they were friends from college.  Just like that a light bulb came on, I asked if she was at Autumn's wedding knowing I was at the only table with friend's and there was a VERY good possibility this is who we talked to during dinner.  Sure enough it was and then we chatted about our mutual friend and her adorable kiddos.

We met up at Papago park and walked down to this pond for some shade.  This adorable little peanut wasn't feeling the best but looked so cute snuggled up and gave some great smiles, smooches and mommy moments.
I had a great time chatting with this family and watching them interact.  They really cherish time with one another and the love is radiant.
