Threshold {Shannon Lund Photography Studio space}

For anyone just tuning in- Hello, my name is Shannon and I am a photographer.  When I was a little girl my sister and I would get out the white sheets, fans, mirrors and play model/photographer.  I come from a very snap happy family, so there are many memories and moments documented thru the years.  I took a few years of photography in school and never lost the hobby.  When my first son was born I knew I needed a current piece of equipment.  With digital being so much more affordable than film I purchased my first DSLR.  After a year of doing some photog jobs on the side and second shooting I decided to jump in and call myself a photographer and started asking for referrals.  I have yet to advertise thinking, I love my friends so their friends have to be equally cool right!?!  It has worked out fabulously!

July 1st I joined my friend Autumn (Massage therapist) and we share studio space in the Threshold building on Atwood Ave.  It's an incredible building and our fearless leader Efrat is phenomenal!  Threshold and everyone involved have really helped nourish my soul!  Not only do we have this amazing workspace, but a crew of people that are making such a powerful impact on my life.  Stay tuned as we spread beauty, love and healing...

Time is not always on my side, but I sure do enjoy trying to keep up!!

Summer will officially be soon and it feels like it already!  Things have been very busy at SLP the past couple months.  Some big news coming soon that I can't wait to share!

Mini sessions have started as well as weddings.  I am just finishing up Chimeng and Michelle's super fun wedding, and head off to another this Saturday for my college roommate.

I've been a little too busy to update my blog, so here is a little preview of the past month or so.

I say often and I really do mean it, I am blessed!  Thank you so much to everyone who has supported and nurtured me on this journey!  I have so much to be thankful for and pinch myself daily seeing how life has played out.

To call this 'work' makes me giggle like I'm getting away with something haha!  This is fun, exciting, new, creative, expressive, artistic but certainly not work!!  Now cleaning my house...that's work and even that doesn't happen to often!

Darrien {Dance Photography}

Have you ever had those little butterflies in your stomach when your so excited about something?  Well I did many times during my session's with Miss Darrien.  She deserves the title after proving herself to be such a lady, yet only a teen.  This session was purely for fun!  I was telling my friend Nikki how I would love to photograph someone doing ballet in a field.  She told her co-worker who's daughter(Darrien) is a performer and played the middle man introducing us.  I soon met the model, mom and Grandma at a coffee shop and we all chatted my vision and the remaining details set.
This first series is from earlier this summer and OH MY GOD were the mosquito's bad!  We all had at least 3 layers of bug spray on and were still being eaten alive.  In 30min we had 3 different outfits and 4 different backgrounds...then ran to our cars as we yelled good bye...thanks!  Now looking back we probably should have done the studio session first and got to know each other with no bugs...  Even with all the bugs, we got some great images from this first session!
We met up a second time at the studio and one of Darrien's instructor's came along to help/direct.  I'm not sure that's what her intentions were coming, but I sure appreciated it!  I love ballet but couldn't tell you anything intelligent about it other than it looks pretty!
Thank you Darrien and crew for being part of this process and trusting my vision!  And for getting up early even when you were sore & tired!  Xo
